Who's Coming To The Kentucky Wool Festival?

While not a true wool festival (long story), the Kentucky Wool Festival is a fun weekend destination in a beautiful spot of northern Kentucky and at a fabulous time of the year. This is primarily a craft festival, but we do have one whole 100' tent full of sheep and wool vendors and demonstrations this year. There are three other large tents and various outdoor craft vendors as well and the festival food can't be beat. Something for everyone ;-).

As the organizer of the sheep and wool tent, I am happy to promote the following vendors that are signed up for 2009. We may be few, but we are all bringing some really nice fiber and fiber gifts. Come check us out!

And if you have any questions, please send them to me or a vendor listed below. We are sorry the main festival folks are not responding to questions :-/. Hopefully this blog will help.

  1. Mt View Crafts will be doing 8 harness weaving demonstrations. I will be making bread towels using natural or white warp with colored weft if a couple of different patterns. I have woven scarves, shawls, avests, and ruanna's as well as rugs and placemats. This is my part-time job until I can retire from my paying "day-job" until then I will keep the day-job to support my habit of weaving.

  4. Hey! I was going to say that Stephanie! Looking forward to meeting you too! I'm really excited to be setting up again this year at the festival this year. Sara has done a greatjob of lining up a wonderful variety of vendors. Lots of fiber goodies for everyone. I'm looking forward to introducing my new Luna Loca spinning batts and doing demos in felting, carding and drop spindling as well as some color blending on the drum carder.

  5. I look forward to participating in the wool festival! I am new to the festival as well as the 'fiber art' world. We raise Icelandic Sheep and I will be bringing some fiber for felting, and a little for spinning. I also have some pottery that I'll be bringing that has a fiber theme.. some yarn bowls, knitting needle vases/holders, and a variety of 'ewenice' pots. I look forward to meeing a lot of fiber artisans! See you there. Tonya -Flat Creek Wool and Pottery

  6. I am excited to be set up as a vendor again this year. I have to say that last year there was a great group of people set up and I am excited to meet the new vendors this year as well as to see those again from last year. We all had a great time and I think the new vendors will enjoy it this year. I will be bringing hand dyed yarns, rovings, wool wash and scour (for those fleeces), stitch markers and more. Can't wait to see you all there. I am ready for a fun fiber filled weekend.

  7. Punkin's Patch is bringing the usual assortment of Equinox Farm products, including our needle felted sheep, handspun yarn, roving, washed fleeces, raw fleeces, collectible Christmas cards inspired by the characters - and I mean characters - on our farm, farm photography, wool Christmas ornaments...

I am looking forward to seeing everyone again this year and meeting our new folks. We really did have a great time last year and I was so happy to see some real interest in the wool tent!

  8. Counting down!!! Can't wait to see everyone again and the new folk. Lynn (Snappy Knits) and I have worked together on a somewhat regular basis to make sure we have new products with intent to make our booths noticeable and inviting. We have an array of merchandise ranging from raw fleece to felted and lined. We have worked on looms and with knitting needles, and are very excited to see what every one else has been working on this year..
